Meet the Founder

Hi, I’m Grace!
A Montessori teacher, curriculum designer, and mom living near the South Puget Sound.

For over a decade, I’ve worked in Montessori classrooms, teaching students from Early Childhood to Junior High. Today, I teach adolescents in a place-based junior high program, where we explore science, history, and identity through the ecosystems and communities around us.

Earlier in my career, I worked in gerontology, creating wellness programs that helped older adults stay engaged, curious, and connected.

These experiences have shaped how I see learning:
People thrive when they feel grounded in place, in purpose, and in community.

South Sound Co. was born from that belief.
It’s a way to bring learning home through stories, tools, and seasonal guides that help families build stronger connections to the land and to each other.

If you’ve ever wanted your child, or your whole family, to feel more connected to the natural world right outside your door, you’re in the right place!
